What matters most is how it works with the actual toys. That couch looks fine, it's probably a small 1/6 scale couch that could pass as a large 1/12 scale couch.
As far as lighting goes, I need a minimum of ambient lighting, 1 strong overhead and 2 directional battery powered lights I can maneuver around a scene.
I just use the sun coming in my apartment window or all the lights in my apartment turned on for ambient. I use a usb ring light for webcams mounted to my second monitor as an overhead and I splurged a bit on some lume-cubes to work as directionals, but you could easily use a couple flashlights with tissue paper elastic banded to them for diffusers.
I like to pose my figures on my desk, so I just throw a pillow case over my second monitor if I want to take a picture.
