I dislike to interrupt the love but there has to be some hate.
It is looking like the Spawn line is going to go to $29.99 MSRP for a standard figure later this year, and some retailers already adjusted (Gamestop, EE at first then adjusted back, BBTS) while others are offering this wave at $24.99 for now (Target, Amazon, EE now) but 2 of the 3 indicate they know about the $29.99 price. Was hoping it was just BBTS and Gamestop being dicks and EE copying their move, but that isn't how it looks now.
Not even Hasbro is to $29.99 for a standard figure for more niche collector IP like GI Joe Classified and that is frankly obscene for the quality of the engineering on the Spawn line.
The actual engineering checks and articulation testing would need to get a lot better to justify that. Like they'd have to actually make the ab crunches work properly getting closer to a normal human range rather than giving a slight bit forward. They should have made sure the arms actually have functioning but not ugly butterfly joints, and the built in thigh swivels at the top are never impeded by the sculpts to the point where you get almost no swivel on some figures. These sometimes aren't even painted accurately when called for (Medieval Spawn for example).
For 30 I'd probably sooner buy re-releases of the old McStatues like
>>10318840 if they were painted remotely like the originals, as opposed to figures that may have the articulation POA of a modern figure but don't have the proper range, making many of the points of articulation useless. Like I can't even get an ankle rocker out of something like Raven Spawn because of the choice of the soft overlay covering his entire ankles.
