They force certain ideas and certain characters I'm sure (see: Sentinel back from the dead out of fucking nowhere), but shit, Hasbro has toys of a lot of these guys coming out within the next year or so, doubt they're gonna want them dead. They want to see the guy in the comic and WANT a figure of them.
Also I don't think Overlord is gonna die, he's something of a fan favorite and has a mysterious benefactor who just restored him.
