>>10602894>I don't think people seriously into custom making will like to purchase these for all the reasons already mentioned by others (material, finish, needing to provide ongoing maintenance to the skeleton/disassembly, competition with cheaper or more durable alternatives, etc)Maintenance is always an issue for complex action figures. I was very amazed by Gunpla up until the point I realized they're just overly engineered statues. Those things are apparently very fragile even though the poseability is built in. Then I saw here as well as in YT reviews people talking about QC issues or ways to fix broken very expensive figures. A good example of this is the Phicen line.
So I built my figure around this. If a joint is loose or broken you won't lose your investment so to speak because you can always print a replacement part. The figure itself has no pins or screws. It can be easily taken apart and be put back together. No need for warm water either.
Video related. This is an old video I posted way back showcasing the elbow joint. Since then I have made a lot of improvements. Nonetheless the idea is that when you bend it normally it stays put no problem. But when you bend it abnormally you can easily disassemble it. This is only for the elbow and knee joints. For the rest of the figure the joints pop in and out like a Bionicle figure.
