Really not sure how to take that. it looks to me like it wouldn't absorb any shock at all before the heavy shaft compreses it all the way and makes a more direct impact on you.
But very impressed at the range he appeared to get with the thing, wonder if some modding can make these a lot more safe without severely reducing effectiveness.
I am definitely looking forward to this thing regradless. It's sheer size and bulk, combined with it's not needing to rely on buiilding tension in the arms themselves to fire, means it would be a great platform to build replicas of bows from Monster Hunter or Dark Souls.
