>>10345152Finished building the 1950s Diner, here's my quick review
>The car is easily the best part of this build, makes me wanna go use it as a basis for a Wario Car sometime down the line>The gas pump is a literal afterthought and I honestly would have preferred some sort of outdoor seating like a picnic table with a parasol or something>Why the fuck does the Chef minifig have a pure white torso instead of some sort of printing? I know they can't make unique prints for these Bricklink sets but it's not like there wasn't any chef torso they could have used for him, hell the bowling alley also comes with a chef too and he has a torso print.>Some color choices are really weird, for example the interior of the diner is fully tiled out with black/white 1x1s, but for some reason they use lilac 1x1 curved tiles in place of white ones by the corners of the building. Which is weird because once you get to the roof there's some white 1x1 curved tiles used there too so its not like it wasn't a "That color's not available" thing.>Speaking of the interior, there's a ton of loose accessories like menus and frying pans just placed on top of tiled surfaces so they just kinda float around inside.>The entranceway sucks, the trans-blue panels they use for the sides leave a visible gap leading inside the building if you're looking dead on>The base feels like it's begging to be put on a baseplate once its done. It's a great looking set but there's definitely some flaws here. I feel that it could have benefited from some additional tweaking, and looking at the original Ideas submission its definitely a step up from that. Solid 7.5-8/10 of a set.
