Eventually he formed a supervillain group to protect his operations, later he used a device to steal the powers of Whirlwind, Living Laser and Power Man. He combined the powers and amped them up bestowing himself with flight, super strength, invulnerability and laser eyes... yes he’s an evil mafia boss Superman.
He died, was resurrected, became an energy vampire of sorts, etc. He shows up every now and then, he’s really too powerful to be used with any regularity. He recently popped up in Amazing Spider-Man having been a victim of the Sin-Eater.
