however, i do prefer the older game in some respects. the cards, while being the less manipulatable rectangles, are much bigger. meaning aiming for a card and landing on it is much easier. with battle planet, i find myself rolling over the card i aimed for, and having the magnet actually stick to the next one- far more often.
i also generally prefer the art of the OG cards. the new ones feel kinda generic in comparison.
as for the shows:
idk. i've watched like 2 episodes of battle planet. its a pretty basic kids show toy tie in romp
don't get me wrong, the original show wasn't good per say. but i can speak on some of its qualities. it was decently dark. and wasnt afraid to show main characters in a negative light. (Dan is a full on narcissistic cunt for the first few episodes, and he gets called out for it, and changes for the better. the doom dimension is basically bakugan purgatory- and they dont shy from portraying it as a decently scary place. the masqurade arc was really interesting imo. even if it was kinda obvious.
and generally (there is an exception) none of the characters are wholly annoying (fuck marucho holy shit. maybe i hate smart young characters because i was a dumb kid and i'm jealous or something? but whatever fuck this guy and his "uhm actually" bullshit holy fuck i hate him. i would give anything to get a chance to absolutely punch the little cunt's face in.
again, haven't really watched battle planet. so i cant comment on it much.
