I think I'll just order some overpriced modellers snake oil thinner, like from AK or Abt. 502, at least those are purpose made for this, so they'll most likely work.
Colors for dot-filtering are white, yellow and raw umber. I think blue would also add a lot, but that didn't arrive yet. Also 50% umber-black mix for pin washing and recesses.
