>>8738061>Gimmicks suck, transforming is already a gimmick.It is possible to do gimmicks without ruining a toy, the problem with Armada is that it was bad design all the way through, gimmicks are no excuse. Every aspect of Armada was bad, from the Playskool aesthetic to the very way they transformed. Armada toys were some of the last TFs I bought before I stopped following TF for a while and they certainly didn't make it hard not to, I remember being pretty shocked that Hot Shot's whole upper section was seemingly just a robot carved into a wall like he was the McDonalds Under 3 BW toy, and how Cyclonus had the ugliest dumbest headsculpt I had ever seen with the dumbest proportions like arms just coming out from beneath the middle of his vehicle mode wings and his upper and lower body sections not even connecting together. Just really dumb shit, the gimmicks were the only thing cool about them because the designs certainly weren't "cool" for the most part.
