Iron Man's paint issues were more unique I believe. Red and gold metallic paint are always troublesome, but they made them work before with Iron Man revos. So they knew how. I think AY was so rushed things got screwed up, he was that popular and production schedule couldn't keep up. Perhaps, just guessing.
Red Hood should be fine. That plain helmet, human paint error might stand out. Paint mixture problem like fading, sticking, pealing...shouldn't be a problem he's not IM popular. They have time.
