They're stiff and lifelife in a way that is almost offensive to the eyes, as everything is drawn and framed as flatly as possible. They don't even have shading. G1 may have been rushed and had the artists make things up as they went along, but at least it offered a dynamism and visual interest the decade and a half Hanna Barbera's assembly lines churned out couldn't.
