>>9445138Different anon, but I've been a partial afotm member for the year and I've mostly been pleased with it. The only figures I've missed out on are the Classic Suitman, Alexander (this one I really regret), and October's (which I couldn't give less of a fuck about).
Looking back most of them have been pretty damn basic but I've never really noticed. The combinations have been typically satisfying, like silver classic knight with cowboy armor and green eyes+scarf, or the purple and silver old knight with cape.
I'm even biased towards the Virkil because I'm a sucker for all black, but I think the simplicity works really well on the figure, and the human head's got a good look too with the little bit of paint it has. Same for Cen.
So over all I've been pretty damn pleased, but the CroMega definitely feels like a hard dropped ball. And I can totally see how a lot of these releases could have been disappointing for others too, especially when the next store release might be just as good or better. I can't really compare this to the other afotm years, but I'd say I think the value is there, and more so if you tie in the "exclusivity" of the figures. But I wouldn't say the value is huge either by any means, and some of the figures have been easy to grab off the shop post release anyways.
