Paint is fucking expensive.
Sure. it's like 10¢ per application but when a figure requires 15-30 to get to the level of paint that figure is at, it's suddenly more expensive than doing multi-joints.
It's why McFarlane ditched all the articulation to make McStatues, so he can slather his figures in premium paint that would make most statueshit not be worth the costs.
Anyway, there's a happy medium and there's also a "good enough," hence companies like Hasbro being able to impress a lot of collectors who value accuracy to the s ource and wanting something that's playable, and theyre only paying $20 at most for an overwhelming amount of their figures.
The fact that most of /toy/ revolves around these lines just shows that they are good, unlike cheaper lines that don't do a good job at sculpt/paint/articulation like Mattel crap.
Even then, Mattel crap is still an alright value, despite Hasbro showing that good-great toys can be made for the same price as Mattel's lower standards.
Anywhere else, Mattel's children toys are a cut above the rest. It's only in America that they're not.
Also, yes, it is a human way, but states like California will cover most medical expenses if you're poor and make below a certain level of income. Lots of social programs exist to help everyone out and then there are private ones too. IT's just up to you to find them if you really need help.
>>7161500>>7161530Only businesses and manufacturers will be affected. Private sales will go on like normal, but if a business you order from is affected, like Target ordering from Hasbro who makes their stuff in China, well... prices gonna go up.
