So what do you anons think of "Dream Besties?" I was curious about them, so I picked up Renee, (Because I'm a weeb.) and holy hell, she's BAD.
Hair is is that cheap, greasy feeling hair. I don't know the exact name for it as I'm not that big into doll hair material. But this is the first time I've really noticed a real step down in doll hair quality from Mattel. There's also tinsel in the hair that's super annoying to comb. And lastly, the twin tails are positioned noticeably asymmetrical to each other. The right is tied up and further out compared to the left.
The body is a hybrid, with modern Barbie bod sculpting and G3 Monster High articulation, sans mid torso joint. It looks very chunky, especially the arms. Each of the Dream Besties have slightly different bodies with Renee being the tallest and Teresa the smallest. The legs can’t do the splits. They barley can spread 35 degrees apart. She doesn't have a noticeable butt-crack. That may sound lewd to you doll-prudes, but Renee’s mono-butt is disturbing to look at. She also has a large “GENUINE BARBIE” logo taking up a good chuck of the back of her torso. It’s been awhile since I actually bought a new Barbie, so when did this happen? In any case, it’s distracting from the body sculpt.
