>>8613021Did this plenty as a kid, using everything at my disposal. Had a large box of various wooden building blocks that was the basis of countless fortresses, redoubts and defensive positions. Later on during the pogs fad there were brands of chips that had plastic ones, some of which were "toothed" like pic related. Found that they could be clipped together to build structures, thus becoming another means of raising forts and bunkers for the troops. In fact they saw so much action that many don't hold together so well after being blown apart by shellfire, heh.
More recently (as in about 10 years ago) my brother and I built a fort out popsicle sticks and glue, was a real work of beauty. Unfortunately we didn't think of storage concerns and built it as one large piece (if we ever built another one it'd be modular) so it eventually got moved to one of our little greenhouses where it got moldy and had to be tossed. So many regrets, had even built a siege tower that was exactly the right height to attack the walls, with more siege engines in development.
