It's kind of hard to blame them for how shitty the spider mode is considering how dumb her transformation is, and unlike Dinobot she's nowhere near big enough to just brute force it with an inside-out transformation. And they obviously didn't want her to just have a giant backpack, which is shocking considering the current trend of G1 MPs. They could have done more for it still though, like aside from one part of the abdomen tabbing into the legs literally nothing actually secures or locks together, transforming her really does feel like you're just jiggering up a fanmode until it looks kind of right, and for her price and all her accesories they should have really just given her some partsforming shell pieces to cover up the legs fully, it would have been nice for a beast mode display. There's a legends scale Blackarachnia 3P that does pretty much exactly that and it's a welcome option.
The price is completely inexcusable though. I only got the official one after waiting a very long time to wait and see what QC issues it had (thankfully none) and after waiting long enough to see if they were going to KO it to sell at like 60$ which is the real price, which they did pretty much immediately after gave up waiting I finally got it.
