The bluetooth mode is controlled through your phone similar to the Powered Up app and other similar third party lego controllers (ie: BuWizz). There's also 4 different control options on the phone itself (3 standard ones and one programming one. If you're familiar with Scratch it looks kinda like that).
The motors themselves are pretty basic for their size, being 2 studs x 4 studs x 2 bricks in size.
