If you want to know what super robot felt like too kids in its peak you watch gaogairgar and maybe gurren lagann and gridman. Gundam is about gritty war and transformers in the 2000's was largely about mcguffin finding. Transformers in the 1990's was mostly beast wars which delivered a completely seperate take on the franchise.
So yeah, GGG and braves are derivative of those two shows (and alot more shows desu), but they show their own unique concepts as well as things later borrowed in follow up franchises, including transformers. Theres a reason gundam build fighters had a brave reference gundam
