I was happy with my matching of the colors to his CV1 sprite, as well as preserving the pixelized look, but it was so damn shiny even after several coats of matte varnish. I was worried I'd fucked up so bad that the thing would never look right, but I'm happy with how he looks now after a year of intermittent (once every few months) applications of a different brand of spray on matte varnish.
