>>6748422>cautiously optimisticWe'll be lucky if this shit is Paul Blart levels of mediocrity. There is absolutely no hope for the Live Action franchise until they hard reboot fucking everything.
They had a room with a bunch of celebrity writers creating ideas for future films in the vein of the first four. Why was the Last Knight such a clusterfuck of plotpoints? They threw in a ton of sequel/prequel/betweequel hooks with no cohesion or regard for continuity. That DNA is going to poison the rest of the films because they tried to convert a barely connected film series into a shared universe, and they are dead set on using those. DC couldn't manage when they made Man of Steel with a plan, so what chance do the desperate indebted Paramount hacks have? Remember that TLK was the worst performing film in the franchise and this movie has a paltry 80 mil budget.
Actually, lets look at who's involved. Christina Hodson is writing. She also wrote Unforgettable and Shut In, which everyone hated, including the normies cinema score samples, and neither were high concept sci-fi. Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing, after making The Devil Inside, GI Joe films, and every previous Transformers movie. Tom DeSanto is also involved, who sucks without Brian Singer considering he wrote the First three Transformers Films. Travis Knight is the only hope this film has, but he'll be hamstrung by everyone else including Michael Bay.
Yes, MICHAEL BAY IS PRODUCING. Nothing is for certain, but this film has everything going against it. Even if you just want it to make money, remember it's going against Spiderman, Wreck-it Ralph, and Mary Poppins, which is unquestionably going to tear into Bumblebees profits. That's not even including Aquaman, Grinch, or Peter Jackson's film.
Bumblebee is fucked. It's a cheap movie in a crap universe being written and produced and hacks that ruined the others. We can only hope the toys are decent, which is somehow even less likely to happen.
