painting portions looks a million times better than having to use color correcting stickers that are included in most kits.
spraying topcoat also makes your kit look less of a plastic toy.

sure theres technically nothing wrong with leaving your kit but theres just so much you can do to it to make it look visually better. even just inking the panel lines makes it look better.
