>>10626231Thanks.
The lighting was kept to a minimum. Dark room with a blue LED light strip overhead and blue forward facing LED lamps on either side. A single diffused white light coming from the left side.
The bubbles were created using a technique I've seen in a diorama book but modified for this application.
I used Elmer's glue and very thinly spread it out on a piece of plastic and then dropped tiny beads on it. After it dried, I carefully peeled it away and it formed a curtain which I then strategically placed to cover up the stand that's holding up the Kraken girl. There are actually 4 small bubble curtains being used in this shot. Some are in front of others, to provide some depth. It was really trial and error, I had never tried this before.
Also a bit of photoshop for the bubbles that are not part of the column.
I was going to use glass beads except of course I didn't have any and the ones I ordered will take 2 weeks to get here. Instead I used those beads from the moisture absoring packets that I had lying around (Dessicant Silica Gel - Dangerous Do Not Eat! )
I wanted to use a tiger shark figurine I have, but I couldn't find before I took the shot.
I'm planning to get more Cobra Eels, hopefully I can setup a big underwater battle.
>>10626798I would think if you're fighting underwater then you'd be breathing pretty heavy, also some of that would be coming from the Eel as well. But yeah I'm not a diver so I don't know. I did look at some reference photos.
