Back then, when everyone had stock powers like levitation, invisibility etc the Vahi's abilities did seem pretty impressive. But once even regular Toa started displaying late Bleach-tier powers Nikila with her Mask of Possilbities, of course the villains (especially top tiers like the Makuta) had to raise the bar.
