I have bought some but haven;t used them yet so I can't really compare them to the Dioders, but people tell me they're great. No hub I think, but IIRC the advantage of these is that you can address each LED individually so you can create cool color effects, gradients, etc. using the companion app. Make sure you get the RGBIC ones if you want this feature, Govee also sells a cheaper standard RGB set that cannot do this.
And yes, I know this picture contains statues, but the main point here is the display and lights, and I couldn't find another pic on short notice that showed the gradients.
