>>11107512A violent shaking of the ground beneath their vehicle throws both men about, their screens filled with static and great radar shadows for a brief moment before shattering. Outside the radar truck, the AA battery is devastated. Both guns lie toppled, one in pieces; burning ammo crates cook off randomly, sending tracers, high explosive and incendiary rounds in all directions as the surviving soldiers seek what shelter they can from the apocalyptic deluge. What was once the inside of a defensive bunker is now a smoking crater, the remains of the bunker's occupants scattered about.
While one of the radar operators exits his damaged truck to give aid to the survivors outside, his colleague gets to work trying to retrieve the data from his station. His cut up fingers staining the console green, he grits his teeth and digs into the hardware, suspecting the momentary flicker on his screen just before the explosions was more than a coincidental system glitch.
