Obviously, corporations have been pushing this shit for decades now (DIVX, rentals, copyright protections, etc etc) and mass media has been pushing it AND there's an army of shills, but the government is likely agreeing with them. Why? because just look at the housing market, where most people can't even afford a home without being a millionaire in some places of the country. And it's only going to get worse, because we're already seeing other parts of the country where it wasn't bad becoming just as bad, thanks to people relocating from the major problem areas.
So space is becoming a huge premium and that means people have less space to store their junk, hence it making sense for MEGACITY poorfags like

Anyway, in short, OP needs to buy small to medium sized boxes. You can cram a lot of shit and store it in out of the way places faster and easier because of their smaller sizes. You should look up ammo storage systems. They're relatively small and extremely durable, while being almost airtight in case shit happens.
