I'm trying to level-up and acquire equipment I've seen pros using. I found this package for $2.99 at Harbor Freight. You can attach an alligator clip to a bamboo skewer and roll the skewer in your fingers to rotate a tiny piece (like the gear shift in a car) you're painting. That way you can comfortably rest your arms on your table without lifting your hands.
Other ideas I've had or seen:
>turntable (sometimes called a lazy susan) for spinning a model while spray painting
>various-sized bar clamps for holding two pieces together
Everyday household items:
>clothes pins for clamping and holding things
>q-tips for cleaning
>bamboo skewers as stated above
>toothpicks for stirring and
>tongue compressors / popsicle sticks for attaching larger parts to
>plastic bottle caps (think 24 oz. and 2 liter drinks) for holding small amounts of liquid
>newspaper for drop cloths
If I see or think of more, I'll post. Please suggest your own ideas because I'm writing all of this down.
