My mom for some reason kept toys that had guns away from me at one point, or removed the guns from the toys, even if they weren't standard firearms but energy based weapons. Like I got the giant Wing Gundam action figure for Christmas one year but she threw away the buster rifle. I dunno, probably had something to do with Colombine being recent. Also really sucks because a few years later she changed her tune and not only bought my little brother NERF guns and shit but also got him actual guns as he turned into a teenager. I didn't get my first gun until I bought one myself.
