>>10329908It kinda depends on what you want to collect. Really you can mix Black Series, Mafex, and Bandai stuff all together and they mesh pretty well. Black Series gives you the most character selection and has a steady stream of releases but they also make dumb or annoying decisions like using Hunter's mold for the Republic Commandos or throwing out a ton of repaints instead of wanted figures. Mafex is great for shelf presence because of their more accurate proportions and sharp sculpts but they get delayed a lot and can sometimes have breakage issues if you aren't careful. SHF are a bit divisive. I think they have made the best Luke and Han figures so far, I also like their Mando and recent Boba Fett, but they sometimes fuck up human faces and also like to over engineer things that can be a bit annoying. They'll also do softer texture work on the clothing bits compared to the others on some figures. Then there are the model kits which are really excellent for the trooper types and droids but do require the work to them look their best. If you want a good astromech then get the Bandai model and avoid the Black Series one since it's not even close to accurate size.
If you just want a few core characters then the imports will probably be a better choice. If you want to army build troopers, go with Black Series or the model kits if they're available. If you want to do more world building, Black Series is the way to go and then maybe pick and choose a few of the main characters to get import versions of. The best thing I can recommend is to just look at reviews to see which versions will give you what you want. I personally buy from all of them and haven't really regretted anything.
