Greetings friends from LG!
I'm here to ask you guys a technical question - regarding minifigure repair.
As many of you who buy older figures off bricklink might have noticed, with time, the friction between a figure's torso and his legs assembly decreases.
As this happens, sitting the figure down(and even standing him up sometimes) and trying to pull him off a plate he's connected with result in him being torn apart.
Is that an issue for you guys? And if it is - what methods do you use to fix it?
Personally I like to add a little glue on the front and back of the legs, in the highlighted areas. Not a lot - just enough to increase friction.
By adding just a little glue, it allows you to still be able to pull off the legs if for some reason you should want to replace them in the future.
I have been doing this for about 3 years now - it does not seem to add any extra strain to the torso part or cause any cracks or breaks.
My primary motivation for doing this is that I'm very big on function, and pulling a minifigure off a plate only to have one half come off and the other half stuck is a big issue for me.
Is this heretical? Is it something you'd consider doing? Do you have a better, less damaging/invasive method?
