I collected them from about 2011 to 2018 or so, and I amassed about every release besides the super rare $100+ figures and some of the electronic TARDISes. In a way, it really is one of the best lines ever, just for the character selection alone. Sometimes I buy some of the newer releases occasionally but it's mostly rereleases or recolors nowadays. Unfortunately it was slaughtered by
1. Changing to 3.75 to mix with SW figures in 2013 when the line had been 5 inch since like 2004 (and changing to 3.75 the fucking year Star Wars primarily switched to 6 inch)
2. Producing characters nobody wanted en masse (this was due to the BBC only giving Character Options photos of characters before each season started so there was no way to tell who would be a heavy hitter or not)
3. Stumbling to pick the line back up after the colossal 2 year failure of 3.75". It was late 2015 before we saw a 5 inch figure of the 12th doctor, and it wasn't even really accurate to his costume in the show. All releases with the 2015 relaunch of the 5 inch line were marketed as limited numbers despite most of them being available for pennies on the dollar now.
4. Their US distributor getting bought out by Funko, and then promptly dissolved. Killed most DW merchandise distribution in the US, which had peaked around 2012-2013.
I could go on for longer, but it was just hit after fucking hit for CO and the DW line. They're finally starting to do new figures again but the paint applications has become noticably gloppy and thick, which leaves the sculpts not looking as crisp as the rest of the line.
