>>9914161Skelita has “bone tits“ so that her clothes will drape and fit better on her body, not for any weird coomer fetish reason.
I will not tolerate any slander of Skelita Calaveras in this house. She’s one of the most conceptually-daring and visually striking characters MH ever released; her unique body mold with molded in pelvic lines, individually separate vertebrae, toe and finger bones is a genuine work of art and I still can’t believe a design of that caliber was mass-produced as doll for children to play with.
Her faceup is so detailed compared to the typical MH doll with the dots and swirls of sugar skulls, her fashion style is bright and colorful, combining Mexican folk art motifs with skeletal shapes and southwestern leather.
She was lovingly designed by Natalie Villegas, who wanted to share parts of her own Mexican heritage with kids, adult collectors, and anyone else who might pick up a Skelita doll.
Even her personality is reflective of Mexican culture; Skelita is an expressive artist with a reverence for tradition, and a loyal friend who honors her family and community.
She deserved to have twice as many dolls as she did, she was such a great character and to see people assume she’s “promoting anorexia“ because she’s a skeleton or that she’s “Cultural appropriation of Day of the dead” (even though her designer is Mexican and actual Mexicans love her) is so sad, because those stupid accusations are why Mattel might not feature her in this upcoming G3 reboot.
