Yes, the Mini-Heads were. You mean mostly just your personal preference on horror than sci-fi. The sculpting was equally good. But why i think they were better is, that the head is the minifigure you get. While MIghty Max has a Max figure and they dont have a special thing. Than you have a cool interior with Max, but most dont feel like a place. In Star War you clearly see that this could be a scene at a location in the movies.
