>>7210811I'm 100% with you there. The texture over much of Revo Carnage looks to me like raw muscle fibers, like what you might see if you ripped someone's skin off. Still, I could have maybe accepted this if the head was great. To me, the head is crucial to a good Carnage figure, and very few figures have gotten it (mostly) right over all these years.
First off, the little tiny tendrils coming off his head look like scraggly hair, it fucks with the silhouette and looks dumb. Second, his eye shape is kinda bad, it doesn't swoop down enough. Third, the swappable eye gimmick really fucks with the contour of his face in my opinion, and makes it look awful. I would have left that out altogether, or made an entire replaceable upper face portion including the upper jaw. Fourth, his entire face seems too small and compressed somehow. And lastly, this is kind of a dumb nitpick, but the inside of his mouth should really be bubblegum pink. That's kind of iconic to Carnage's look for me.
I like Yamaguchi and Revos a lot, but this one just did too many things wrong for my taste. My picks remain the ML and MS.
