Okay, so I put on another gloss coat after the decals, this time so thick it looked like hotglued when it was wet. Got rid of most of the terrible structure, but some is still there.
Today I tried myself on weathering for the very first time. Looks like ass.
The color I used for rust (Humbrol 160) was a bit too bright and "clean" for my liking, I should have put some black in maybe. Also I couldn't really get the proper thinning ratio because either it completely ran away or sat on spot too thick. And being acrylics they were dry the moment I applied them.
You can see that very good on the bottom. I just wanted to go for some very weak green shade to make it look like algae growing on the body below the water line, but now it looks like somebody dipped it into an old pond.... Oh well, next time will be better I guess.
Last things to do are another matte coat and span a bit of thread (should I do that before or after the coat?)
