How do you guys keep from damaging your toys while posing them outside in harsh environments? I just got into collecting and I want to try out some photography, but I'm worried about scuffing the figs. I recently had to fix a broken neck ball joint and I took the figure outside because I don't have a work station in my house, and I used a dremel and screw to attach the ball joint back to the neck and all that jazz, and it worked great for my first time ever doing this, but I laid the figure down on concrete while I did this, and I laid him down gently I didn't just toss it on the ground, and after I was done I noticed he had some paint chipped/scuffed on his back. Maybe I was more reckless than I realize, but I dunno, I was mindful about not scuffing him and I still ended up getting marks on his back just by placing him on the ground for a bit.
When you are outside I imagine your figures sometimes fall over when trying to position them. Do you just deal with the scuffs that come from that? Is that the collateral damage you have to accept when photographing outside?
