At first glance I’d have to guess that you’re hand holding when it’s too dark. What are you lighting with?
Set the camera down or use a tripod and use the 10 sec timer. Rule of thumb is that the darker the picture is the longer it’ll take to snap the shot but is also more susceptible to camera shake. Try to brace the camera on something. A still camera in perfect focus in the lens’s sweet spot will look razor sharp.
Sonys are good to learn on. I still use the Sony Alpha A200 on occasion. Those Michael Jackson shots I uploaded were taken on it.
