>>7567122>there's no need to be detailed about lore and stuff.I disagree, there's a lot of potential for interesting lore on a planet of sentient, shapeshifting, mechanical lifeforms. I think undercutting all of that for the sake of "PEW PEW, GIMME ENERGON!" is a bad move, but you're right that gender needn't and shouldn't come into it. Create actual social problems that a race of robots would encounter and encourage writers to be creative and do worldbuilding, instead of just copypasting human social issues onto robots so some tranny can "relate" to the characters.
Not that there's anything wrong with "PEW PEW, GIMME ENERGON!". I fucking loved TF vs. G.I. Joe, and that was nothing but mindless action and spectacle.
>>7567127>the idea of love in Transformers lore especially in IDW makes no sense since they can't reproduce. But love isn't always sexual. It makes perfect sense for a race of sentient, intelligent beings to form lifelong bonds. It just doesn't make sense for them to be romantic in a way that's analogous to human relationships. Platonic love between robots would absolutely be a thing, especially during a million-year civil war where your allies are all you have. The problem is that our retarded society now takes any strong male friendship and turns it into pic related.
>>7567148The G1 cartoons were poorly-written and filled with shit that didn't make sense because the writers were just trying to fill 23 minutes of script and pick up their paycheck. I wouldn't use that as a bible for much of anything.
