Honestly, I've had one for years and it works great.

Some people swear by those compressed air cans you can buy with the nozzle to clean out keyboards and computers.

I personally use a make up brush, I don't know the specific name of the big kind (they're easy to find in stores though), and it's super soft because it's for eyelids and stuff.

I've never noticed scratches, but the brush's bristles are starting to get splayed after a few years.
