It's not like they are actually releasing a fat Ken with a beer belly or retiring the present-day prefect body ken, and replacing it permanently with the Broad version as Mattel actually did with Barbie in the early 2000s. Once the 90s ended they reduced her bust size, and made her waits larger, and those changes were permanent.
