Why is it that Western companies insist on using weirdly gummy, soft plastic for their toys? NECA, McFarlane, Hasbro, Mattel etc all seem to use that horrible rubbery stuff. It's prone to warping, it can't hold "sharp" details at all, it feels horrible and it often leads to breakages and QC fuckups, especially as they often make the joints out of the stuff too (Also of note: "Sculpted in" joints need to die in a fire"). I can understand with pointy bits on kids' toys, but for the entire thing on "collector" figures? It sucks. Surely somebody's realized by now it's just not a good way to make figures?
