>>7104672>sand faceDon't fucking damage your doll when it's clear you don't have the patience to be able to buff out all the scratches from sanding and even then, the amount of sanding will remove surface details. And then you're just gonna fucking use matte sealant on top anyway? A few base layers of matte sealant achieves the same effect as a sand matte except it'll be easier to remove cuz the glossy surface won't grip the sealant as well as a matte surface.
And if you're just using one layer of pastels and pencils without sealing it you're never gonna be able to build up colour or get the right feel for what you want. And if you try without sealing, the sealant UNDER the pigment is gonna start absorbing it cuz the texture from the sealant just does that when you keep applying pressure and adding pigment on top..
I know people like to rag on Andeja for how basic her stuff is but she has the right idea of sealing in between her work and building up colour to achieve a decent face up.
Like there's not gonna be an easy chalkboard style practice head, especially if you're going for the pencil/pastel style of practising. Just accept that any doll head you're gonna practise on, you're gonna need to completely scrub off the face up and sealant every time and it's not going to be easy.
You're better off saving up for the actual doll sculpt you want and practising on that after giving it a shit ton of sealant base layers to prevent staining instead of just wasting money on a shitty pullip knock off and expecting you can easily wipe off your attempts on it.
