At the time, the brickish combiner limps were a lot of toy for your money. They were $4, putting them at a similar price point to modern turbochargers. If you want to adjust for inflation, they're target is the same niche as target master, battle masters, etc. They were less than half the price of a modern deluxe and less than 1/3 the price of a voyager. Figures full of articulation in beast wars and beast machines were about 50% more. The same figure updated for 2020 is 4x the price.
Also, another interesting aside, man did price and quality tank after beach machines. I had forgotten RID followed beast machines up. Man, talk about going to shit. We're lucky tf didn't end there. so many shitty repaints. RID megatron was just a big a mess as optimal optimus, made of worse plastic and almost twice the price. Jesus.
