I got a price list from a small workshop that deals with soft vinyl figure manufacturing, if you have a prototype ready you need at least 235,000 yen to get started with the production which includes creating the molds, the frames for the molds, painting masks etc. That's not even including the packaging card print that you'd have to do in another place. And it's not overpriced either, this workshop isn't particularly popular so they have to keep their service prices low. Making sofubi is expensive and if you think you could do it at a fraction of the price without losing the quality you're fooling yourself.
