They require a little more effort as well because of the undergating and I usually need to thin cement flesh parts together and shave off seam lines and sand so the thighs and shoulders don't pop off when using. I think robot parts are great but skin parts are lacking. I'm just using the robot stuff on my 30ms.
Value wise you basically get 2 full girl kits for the price of the kit so the value is there for me. The extra parts are nice to use to upgrade or supplement other kits as well.
