But the issue is the boxes look so CHEAP now that my first reaction is to avoid them. If you wanted to go this route, it wouldn't have even cost much to just hire an in-house artist to do bespoke cover art for each box. This Photoshop template shit using the promo renders is god-awful, and makes them feel even more like mass-produced "slap a logo on and sell it" garbage. Packaging art costs almost nothing compared to the rest of the costs involved with making a toy, and it can go a LONG way towards making people pick your shit up off the shelf. Toys are largely an impulse purchase, and anything you can do to drive that initial burst of excitement will result in higher sales.
If Hasbro wants this to be seen as a collectors line, they need to start putting in the effort to match.
