>>9225124>Retailers approach hasbro and pay them money to develop exclusive products for their stores.Like various anons have stated, stores like Walmart barely even make money off of the toys they order. Almost no store is paying Hasbro any money for exclusives because of that.
It's more lucrative for both the toy company and store to order a guaranteed amount of stock.
>You think Hasbro just cuts new molds for limited production run items and eats the costIf you never noticed, many exclusives are frankensteins with minimal tooling and/or redecos.
But depending on how many units a store orders, its still profitable for Hasbro to do what you think isn't possible, especially for a store like Walgreens to continue supporting the line for years to come. It's all about that long term relationship that guarantees constant orders.
Walgreens has more stores than Walmart and Target. almost 10,000 stores in the US alone. Walmart has under 5k and Target about 2k. Like i said, for a business like Walgreens to order just a single case per store, it'd make any company happy.
Hell, most stores run on credit when it comes to just ordering stock. And you really believe these businesses will pay cash up front? dumb.
In short, you have no idea how any of these companies work, muchless know shit about retail.
