1: You'll see characters and designs you'd never see in the main line for years. And I do mean, years. As in, 10, 20 years.
2: Quality. They literally don't make'em like this in the main line. I'm fine with the $15 Deluxes and shit, for their price and engineering, they're good. But I sometimes want more, and some characters just are not going to get better quality figures, if they get them at all.
That said, you have to watch your purchases. 3P toys can be a minefield. Some releases are great, others are absolute trash. Always watch reviews, several reviews, of any figure. Always get opinions from people, especially from here, because people here will generally tell you the cold truth on a lot of figures, as I've found out. You have to do research with 3P figures, or you will end up paying $100 for a literal piece of shit that cannot stand and falls apart in a stiff breeze.
