>>8045593>G1 was stupid profitable because you had like 50 characters who appeared regularly and every single one had a toy. There's a good reason why they don't do that shit anymore. G1 is completely episodic whilst the rest of the shows aren't tend to be much shorter in comparison due to budget, time slots and some other cable rulebook shit idk. G1 had a shitload of episodes to just shove characters into every time and this got even more blatant with seasons 3 and 4 which is part of the reason why they're considerably worse than 1 and 2. It worked well enough there because they usually had some kind of mini arc to themselves unless it was skids who has like 2 scenes in the whole show. You also can't fit much character development and most don't have a chance to appear frequently enough to do anything of any meaning which is why you have shit like BW and Animated that decide to focus on a smaller main cast.
